                 MODS For Pro 2021

Here are the mobs's for the Pro 2021.
First let me add that when the PRO 2021 was built, they made at
least two different CPU boards. One of them Will WORK with the
mod and the other will NOT work with the mod. I don't know how to
distinguish the difference between them.



Step 1    Disconnect power
Step 2    remove the top cover by removing the five (5) screws
          from the sides and back of the scanner.
Step 3    Carefully lift up the top and disconnect the speaker
          wire connector form the main board.
Step 4    With the face of the scanner facing you, look to the    
   
          left of the circuit board and locate the D-44 and D-45
          diodes. Clip one (1) leg of the D-44 diode. This MIGHT
          give you 800 MHz.. To possibly get 68 to 88 MHz clip
          one (1) leg of the D-45 diode. 
Step 5    Reconnect the speaker connector
Step 6    Reinstall the cover.
Step 7    Program the Search limits 851.000 to 866.000 and
          search. Then program the 68.000 to 88.000 limits. If
          you hear radio traffic, IT WORKED. If you Don't hear
          radio traffic, oh well you can do one of two things.
     
     1.   Open the cover back up and cry into the scanner, and
     maybe the tears will create a new circuit, and maybe the
     scanner will work on 800 MHz.
     
     2.   You can do what I did, and go to Radio Shack and buy a
     Pro 2006 scanner.

     Note: After you clip the diodes, the display will show the
     freqs that you punched in, but if the mod did not work,
     there is no need to reconnect the diodes.
     I have tried this mod on two scanners and it did not work no
     either one. I understand that other people have has success
     with the mod though. Well if it don't work don't blame me.
