PRO 43 EXTENDED COVERAGE

1> remove battery, antenna, and back cover.                                     

2> remove 6 screws holding circuit board in place. de-solder 2 
antenna connections from board, bend antenna gnd tab up fully from the 
board. carefully lift board unplugging connector, lay to the side!                                        

3> remove 2 screws from the next board  &  remove it, carefully 
unplugging the white connector at the bottom of the board, lift & 
lay aside on brown wire, may be unplugged.                                                                    

4> de-solder & remove shielding from the final board revealing the cpu! 
note diodes d1 ----- d5, only d1, d2, d4, are present. remove d4. 
this retores cellular in 30knz steps.                                                                 

5> re-solder d4 into d3 space! this restores 51 - 88 mhz low band!              

6> reassemble in reverse order.!                                             

7> also a mod you might be interested in involves removing c 341                
you will find tis component at the bottom 9of the audio board when you 
get the whole thing open! look for ic 304! look for pins 4-5! there are 
3 devices beneath those pins that are 3 capacitors! remove the middle cap! 
c 341! it will deliver clearer audio at a a better tone and give you better 
battery life, because you no longer have to drive the audio amp so hard!
