I HIGHLY  recommend that  you use an SMD  (surface mount device)  desoldering
station (I did) to remove the diodes.  Obviously most folks don't have access
to  such things  so use a  tweezer and  a fine tip  soldering iron.  Flow the
solder on one side of the  selected diode and GENTLY lift up that side.  Then
flow the other side and remove the diode (save it just in case). BE EXTREMELY
CAREFULL.......YOU CAN  DESTROY YOUR  RADIO IF  YOU DON'T  TREAT IT  LIKE THE
PRECISION DEVICE THAT IT IS!!!!!
